History and Origin:

Macleaya are a genus of plants within the Papaveraceae family, native to China and Japan. Their genus name is in honour of Scottish entomologist Alexander Macleay (1767-1848).


Macleaya are herbaceous perennial plants that form imposing and architectural mounds of undulating foliage and blooms.
