Lophomyrtus

History and Origin:

Lophomyrtus is a genus of just two species in the myrtle family, consisting of evergreen shrubs and trees, native to New Zealand in coastal, mountainous and forest environments. The name Lophomyrtus comes from the greek meaning crested myrtle.

About:

Lophomyrtus are low-maintenance evergreen shrubs or trees, loved for their colourful and attractive foliage which can be brown, purple, red or bronze-green, so they add great foliage interest to the garden. They are great for architectural interest in the garden and are best planted in pots, in beds and borders or can be used for hedging/screening.
