Lavandula is a genus of approximately 47 known species within the Lamiaceae family. It is native to the Europe, Northern and Southern Africa, the Mediterranean, southwest Asia and southwest India. Lavandula are more commonly known as Lavender and have been used for both ornamental and culinary purposes. Lavandula are famous for their scent and for their extraction of essential oils.
Lavandula (Lavender) are compact and beautifully fragranced evergreen shrubs with tall, slender stems and small flower that stack into tubular spikes. They are incredibly popular to aid in stress and insomnia symptoms and are usually dried.
