Knautia is a genus of plants within the Caprifoliaceae family. They are commonly known as ‘widow flower’. They can also be referred to as ‘Scabious,’ although this term is often related to the genus Scabiosa. The genus name is named of honour of the 17th-century German botanists, Drs. Christoph and Christian Knaut.
Knautia are annual or perennial plants, with impressive pin-cushion like blooms and often variegated wing-like foliage that flourish throughout the summer months.
