Impatiens

History and Origin:

Impatiens are a genus of flowering plants widely found in the Northern hemisphere and tropics within the Balsaminaceae family. They are commonly referred as ‘jewelweed’, ‘snapweed’ or ‘busy lizzies’.

About:

Impatiens are annuals or evergreen perennials, with gorgeous serrated foliage, lime-green, slender stems and either solitary or clustered 5-petalled flowers. Impatiens are best suited to flower beds or borders within a cottage or informal garden setting. You should expect to see Impatiens grow to an approximate height of 1 – 1.5m (3-5) and a spread of 50-100cm (1.6-3’).
