History and Origin:

Gardenia are a genus of flowering plants within the Rubiaceae family, native to China. The genus was named by the Swedish botanist, Carl Linnaeus in honour of Dr. Alexander Garden (1730-1791), an American naturalist.


Gardenia are bushy evergreen shrubs or trees with large waxy leaves and stunning bowl or funnel-shaped flowers throughout summer and autumn.
