Ficus

History and Origin:

Ficus is a genus of around 850 species within the Moraceae family and are more commonly known as fig trees or figs. Ficus are mostly native to the tropics. Some species are cultivated for their fleshy fruits whereas others are used as ornamental plants.

About:

Ficus can be evergreen or deciduous trees, shrubs or climbers with large, leathery leaves. They are well suited to growing in containers, trained up walls and structures and other varieties work well as houseplants.
