Fig

History and Origin:

Figs are flowering plants within the genus Ficus and are native to the Middle East and Asia. They are often grown as both an ornamental plant due to their archetectural foliage or for their sweet, edible fruits.

About:

Figs are large shrubs or small trees that have large, architectural leaves and, in summer/autumn, produce fleshy, sweet fruits. The fruits are often eaten raw, or are dried or used to make jams. They are well-suited to growing in containers or trained up a wall.
