Eucryphia is a genus of trees and shrubs within the Cunoniaceae family, native to temperate regions of South America and coastal regions of Australia. The generic name is derived from the Greek word meaning ‘well-hidden’.
Eucryphia are evergreen or deciduous shrubs or trees with simple leaves and large saucer-shaped flowers that flourish during summer or autumn. Eucryphia are best suited to flower beds or borders within a low maintenance and architectural garden. You should expect to see Eucryphia grow to an approximate height of 12+ metres (40’) and a spread of 2.5-4m (8-13’).
