Erica are a genus of flowering plants within the Ericaceae family, native to South Africa. They are commonly referred to as ‘Heathers’. The genus name derives from the Latin word of the same name and means ‘heath’ or ‘broom’.
Erica are upright evergreen shrubs, with narrow pointy leaves and panicles of small and often bell-shaped flowers. They are best suited in pots and containers where they will thrive to optimum effect and look great in city, courtyard and coastal gardens.
