Dryopteris

History and Origin:

Dryopteris is a genus within the Dryopteridaceae family, native to Eastern Asia.

About:

Dryopteris are deciduous, semi evergreen or evergreen ferns with petite yet majestic shuttlecock-like rosettes of pinnately distributed fronds, forking at the ends like a lizard’s tongue. These plants are highly textured and create a fantastic structure amongst other plants and shrubs in flower beds and borders within courtyard and cottage gardens. They are easy to grow and are perfect to brighten up a shady garden.
