Dactylorhiza is a genus of plants within the Orchidaceae family, native to many areas of the Northern Hemisphere including Europe, Russia and central Asia. The genus name is derived from the Greek word ‘daktylos’ meaning finger and ‘rhiza’ meaning root.
Dactylorhiza are deciduous, tuberous perennial plants with sword-shaped and bundles of purple, pink or white flowers, showing an array of colour throughout the summer months.
