Cuphea

History and Origin:

Cuphea is a genus within the Lythraceae family, native to Mexico and central America. They are more commonly known as ‘cigar plants’ due to their shape. The genus name is derived from the Greek word ‘kyphos’ meaning ‘bent’ or ‘curved’.

About:

Cuphea are annuals, perennials or evergreen shrubs with attractive tubular flowers, slender stems and modest foliage.
