History and Origin:

Cerinthe is a genus within the Boraginaceae family, native to Mediterranean regions. They are most commonly known as ‘honeyworts’.


Cerinthe are annuals, biennials or perennial plants that are often referred to as Honeywort. These unusual looking plants display fleshy grey-green leaves, stately narrow stems and luxuriously, rich coloured blooms that are held together forming impressive pendula clusters throughout the summer.
