Camellia

History and Origin:

Camellia is a genus within the Theaceae family, native to eastern and southern Asia. The genus was named by Carl Linnaeus, Swedish botanist and physician after Georg Joseph Kamel, a botanist who was working in the Philippines during the late 17th century.

About:

Camellia are evergreen shrubs with beautiful foliage and distinct cup-shaped flowers, fashioned in an array of colours during winter or spring.
