History and Origin:

Billardiera is a genus of small vines within the Pittosporaceae family, native to Australia. The genus was first defined in 1793 by James Edward Smith, an English botanist who named it after Jacques Labillardiere, a French botanist.

Billardiera are unique and unusual evergreen shrubs exuding delicious scent and dazzling fruit. The compact bell-shaped yellow and green flowers will transform into purple tinged blooms in the summer time. This is then following by electric blue and purple fruits, brightening up autumnal days, leading into winter. These fruits are safe to eat, once the seeds are removed and can be taken straight from the vine, perfect for a winter salad.
