History and Origin:

Bessera is a small genus of just 3 species in the subfamily of cluster lilies within the asparagus family and is native to Mexico. Bessera is named after the Austrian-born botanist Wilibald Swibert Joseph Gottlieb von Besser.

Bessera are perennials with narrow, long leaves and brightly coloured, hanging flowers that bloom in summer/autumn. They are best suited to border and containers and are perfect for a tropical garden.
