History and Origin:

Belamcanda are a genus of plants within the Iridaceae family, native to China and Japan. They are commonly referred to as the ‘Blackberry Lily’ and are a close relative to the Bearded Iris.

Belamcanda are grown for their striking golden blooms that are fashioned upon clumps of green sword-shaped foliage. In the autumn, gorgeous pods appear which split to expose clusters of black seeds.
