Anagallis

History and Origin:

Anagallis is a genus of flowering plants within the Primulaceae family. They are commonly known as ‘pimpernel’. The botanical name is from the Greek word ‘ana’ which means again and ‘agallein’ meaning ‘to delight in’.

About:

Anagallis are annuals or evergreen perennials, that form a gorgeous creeping habit. Narrow, short lance shaped foliage embellish attractive saucer-shaped flowers that are often incredibly vibrant in colour. Anagallis are best suited flower beds and borders or as garden edging within cottage and informal gardens. You should expect to see Anagallis grow to an approximate height of 10cm (4”) and a spread of 10-50cm (4-20”).
