Amsonia

History and Origin:

Amsonia is a genus within the Apocynaceae family, native to North America but also seen in the wild in southern Europe and Japan, first described in 1788. It is said that Amsonia is named after John Amson, an American physician.

About:

Amsonia display attractive star-shaped blooms and dark green weed-suppressing foliage. They are best positioned in flower beds and borders. Please take care when handling Amsonia as the milky sap can irritate the skin.
