Amarine is a genus of plants within the Amaryllidaceae family, native to South Africa. Amarine is a bigeneric hybrid between an Amaryllis and a Nerine.
Amarine forms beautiful clusters of open-mouthed, lily-like flowers of pastel pink. This variety is smaller than an amaryllis but produces larger trumpet shaped blooms than a Nerine. Impressive strap-shaped leaves are thick and lush, making this a highly desirable variety. Amarine are best suited to flower beds and borders within a cottage, courtyard or informal garden style. You should expect to see Amarine grow to an approximate height and spread of between 10-50cm (4-20”).
