Aloysia

History and Origin:

Aloysia are a genus plants within the Verbenaceae family and are more commonly known as Lemon Verbena. They are native to Argentina and Chile, being introduced to Europe during the 17th Century where it was cultivated for its oil. The genus was said to have been named for Maria Luisa of Parma, the wife of Charles IV of Spain.

About:

Aloysia are deciduous or evergreen shrubs with delectable lemon scented foliage and small flowers that project from small, spike-like stems. Aloysia are the perfect addition to flower beds and borders, suiting a range of garden shapes and styles.
